Department Overview

The API Platforms & Partner Programs organization is looking for a self-motivated individual to collaborate with a community of top-tier professionals who are building Business and Mission Critical Services and Solutions that enable Workgroup Communications for Enterprise B2B and Personal Safety experiences.

Job Description

This position is located in the Greater Chicago Area; remote work will also be considered.

A candidate for this position is expected to move fluidly between the following roles:

API Product Owner

Define and execute API go-to-market strategy for multiple product lines across multiple sales regions

Advocate and be the “voice of the developer” – synthesize feedback and identify problems to solve that are high value to developers and to the company

Evangelize API adoption by internal product teams and external development partners – reconcile & align business interests

Developer Program Business Mgr

Facilitate positive engagement with the developer program and an active pipeline of 3rd party developed solutions

Shepherd sales channel, product management, and the developer community across multiple product lines – raise awareness of 3rd party solutions by use-case / sales vertical

Curate program membership and solution offerings – adjust the developer programs in support of overall portfolio strategy and large customer opportunities

Support developer success – align resources and remove barriers – ensure our partners have a positive developer experience

DevRel Strategist & Operations

Sustain and raise awareness of the organization’s purpose and goals in a developer-plus company

Navigate evolving product strategies and business operations to ensure the organization is positioned to be a value-add

Identify opportunities to streamline DevRel operations & business processes

Scale the organization’s DevRel framework and practices to emerging business opportunities

Qualifications/Experience

2+ years experience in one or more of these vertical markets: Hospitality; Manufacturing; Education; Transportation and Logistics; Mining, Oil and Gas; and Utilities

2-4 years Business Development Experience or Product Management Experience within networking, cloud, mobile device, WiFi, CBRS, LTE, Cellular or similar industries; land mobile radio is a plus

Multi-language skills a plus, written and spoken English is required

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time including international travel

Prior experience in a Developer Relations organization is a plus

Skills

Ability to understand complex problems and their solution as well as communicating such matters in understandable terms

Excellent spoken and written communication skills

Strong presentation skills

Technical background to understand CBRS Networks (On Go), Land Mobile Radio (LMR) networks and devices and professional grade mobile communication devices powered by Android or iOS

Technical background to understand cloud networks, APIs a plus

Ability to balance and prioritize a number of projects/work tasks simultaneously

Excellent time management skills – prioritize issues/opportunities according to the biggest impact on business success. Decide how to best use time and the resources available.

Team player – ability to manage cross-functional teams will be an essential skill

Ability to self-manage, identify issues, propose resolutions, create plans and take ownership by turning problems into solutions and opportunities into results

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s or Post Graduate degree in Business or Technology

4+ years of professional work experience in Business Development or Product Management for B2B software products
